The Table: Day and Night (HKAFF)

In a bustling café where lives briefly intersect, serendipity takes centre stage. A man and a woman share the same eccentric dream – will fate bring them together? Old classmates run into each other after years: a sweet second chance or a bitter reality check? A director approaches a novelist he admires to find out if the connection on page is merely delusional. A K-idol meets her first love, where the prospect of parting ways leaves them feeling wistful. Ten years after The Table (14th HKAFF), director Kim Jong-kwan returns to the familiar café setting, weaving four bittersweet stories of fleeting encounters and quiet longings of contemporary Seoul.
