Shall We Dance (bc30)

Suo Masayuki’s global breakout hit made Koji Yakusho a household name, sweeping numerous accolades. Revealing a gentler side to its star, this delightful classic follows a bored salaryman who takes up ballroom dancing on a whim, escaping his ennui alongside eccentric classmates. Yakusho’s adorably awkward performance epitomised a generation of silent men who could all use a little dancing in their lives. As the opening film of bc, it surpassed HK$2 million at the box office during an exclusive run, establishing a house record that has stood ever since.
