Season Opening Concert: Eesti Keeled

The Eesti Keeled concert at Nõmme Culture Centre invites audiences to enjoy a distinctive musical encounter where the sound of zithers and guitars brings together Estonian folk traditions, jazz and contemporary songwriting.
Eesti Keeled takes the stage with vocalists Mari Jürjens and Vaiko Eplik. In 2024, they released the album Pildid, which was nominated for the Estonian Music Awards. The album features both new songs and zither-centred interpretations of earlier works by the ensemble’s members.
Eesti Keeled was formed in 1999, when Ain Agan brought together a unique string quartet consisting of two zithers and two guitars. The ensemble’s music blends folk music and jazz, oral tradition and original compositions, as well as tradition and innovation. The distinctive combination of zithers and guitars has become the signature sound of Eesti Keeled.
