Gong-ju, a woman with cerebral palsy who moves and speaks with difficulty, has long been left alone in the quiet confines of home. Into her world steps Jong-du, a man with intellectual disabilities who is fresh out the slammer. With sticks and stones in the dune, are they destined to be doomed? What begins with Jong-du’s dark impulse gradually blossoms into a wholesome intimacy. Becoming her savior who sweeps her off her feet, the two then guard one another’s innocence and kindness amid an indifferent world. Both leading actors embody the tango of desire, constraints, and entanglement in this tapestry of budding love. Once they have tasted flight, would there be happily ever after in their unspeakable haven?
