Mo Gilligan with his comedy show “The Mo You Know”
Three-time BAFTA television award winner, “the funniest man in Britain” – that’s how The Times describes him. Netflix show star Mo Gilligan will perform in Riga with his new comedy show “The Mo You Know”. The experienced comedian and showman has already sold out several tours during his career, visiting the US, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and, of course, his home country, Great Britain.
“The Mo You Know” show follows a successful career and several audience-favorite Mo Gilligan stand-up show recordings available on Netflix. Released in 2022, “There’s MO To Life” and “Momentum” — the comedian’s debut show, which was released in 190 countries, including Latvia — reveal Mo as a man with a huge heart: no one in this world is evil, we all make ourselves look like lovable fools from time to time as we try to cope with everyday problems.
A Londoner who grew up in a Jamaican family, he masterfully conjures up the multicultural nature of British society in his shows, referring to world-famous names such as Shakira, Bukayo Saka, Stormzy, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. He gently plays on the connotations of these personalities in uncomfortable, familiar, and relatable scenes from life. In addition, Mo takes the audience by the hand and leads them through the most absurd moments of the entertainment industry. He has experienced them firsthand, step by step, building a dazzling career on modest foundations in the competitive European art mecca.
