Let the Right One In (bc30)

Set in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in 1981, Oskar, a bullied 12-year-old, strikes up a friendship with his new neighbour, the mysterious and moody Eli. She is full of contradictions; her wise look, her strange smell, the fact that she is wearing such thin clothing, her neglected and skinny, yet so beautiful, appearance. Initially reserved, a sweet romance blossoms between them. But a dark, macabre secret revealing Eli’s connection to a string of bloody local murders threatens everything. Along with Black Ice, it sparked a new wave of interest in Nordic crime movies at the time, including films such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Headhunters.
