I Won’t Die For Love (SFF2026)
Director: Marta Matute
Cast: Júlia Mascort, Sonia Almarcha
Language: Spanish
At eighteen, Claudia doesn’t want to be a heroine. Yet, her mother’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis strikes like a silent storm, forcing a long-disconnected family to redefine their roles. Torn between care and youth, Claudia navigates this new reality, transforming family bonds. Through a semi-autobiographical lens, director Marta Matute explores the tug-of-war young people face between reality and selfhood, supporting those who care for loved ones—especially young caregivers forced to grow up overnight and sacrifice their youth for love.
Best Spanish Film, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor, Málaga Film Festival
San Sebastián International Film Festival
