FROM DUST by Tarvo Porroson
On 4 September at 18:00, Tarvo Porroson’s solo exhibition DUST opens at the A-Gallery SEIF.
In a world where fleeting experiences and ever-increasing consumption threaten to push our values towards extreme superficiality, I seek ways to transform industrial waste into beautiful and powerful jewellery.
In my work, I use materials that at first glance may easily be considered useless or even rubbish. I create jewellery from materials originating from the metal industry, the very materials used to create the world around us that we tend to take for granted.
Tarvo Porroson is a blacksmith, designer and jewellery artist from Southern Estonia. He graduated in blacksmithing from Vana-Vigala Technical and Service School and holds a BA in Jewellery and Blacksmithing from the Estonian Academy of Arts. In 2013, Porroson won second place in the “Meeste Asi” design competition organised by the Estonian Association of Designers.
The exhibition will remain open until 26 September 2026.
Exhibitions at A-Gallery are supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
