Exhibition “From Restorer to Conservator” at Niguliste Museum
The Conservation Department of the Art Museum of Estonia celebrates its 50th anniversary with a meaningful and diverse exhibition held in three locations: Kadriorg Art Museum, Niguliste Museum, and Adamson-Eric Museum. Carefully selected works are displayed or marked in the permanent exhibition, showcasing the exciting profession of conservators and the work they’ve done over decades.
The exhibition at Niguliste Museum in Tallinn’s Old Town focuses on the restoration of medieval and contemporary art. The exhibition and accompanying collection of articles pay tribute to colleagues and mentors whose contributions and pioneering work have ensured the Conservation Department’s ongoing efforts to preserve the Art Museum of Estonia’s collections. The display in the historical setting of the Old Town also invites the audience to discover the nuances, excitement, and beauty of the somewhat mysterious profession of a conservator.
