It is Chinese-American actress Asher’s last night in Shanghai. After her last hip-hop dancing class, she asks her charismatic teacher, Tori, out for coffee. The casual date quickly heats up into a romantic night-time stroll through the city. Wandering under the night sky, they share quiet intimacy and a budding romance. This brief encounter brews into deeper feelings, making them wish the sunrise would never come. Inspired by BEFORE SUNRISE (1995), this tribute to classic romance cinema delicately captures the bittersweet tension of young female intimacy and their longing to be remembered. EPHEMERA is an irresistible, captivating watch.
