Concert “ansis – Dzīvs”
The shows will mark a special moment in artist’s career, as for the first time he will be joined on stage by a live band featuring Rūdolfs Macats on drums, Uldis Vītols on bass and Vilhelms Logins on keyboards.
“My journey towards performing with a live band has been a very careful and unhurried one, mainly because I wanted to find my own distinctive approach to a format that can be quite delicate for hip-hop. A major part of that has been carefully choosing the musicians, finding the right approach to the live arrangements and balancing them with the original versions of the songs that people already know and love. Will it work? The answer is yes,” says ansis.
ansis, whose real name is Ansis Kolmanis, is one of Latvia’s most recognised and decorated hip-hop artists. He is a multiple winner of the Latvian Music Recording Awards Zelta Mikrofons and the first rapper to receive the prestigious Austras balva. On 8 March this year, ansis released his latest album, 222.
