The Four Rules of Firearm Safety

Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
Never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
Always be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Cold Range Policy
Bullets & Barbecue will operate as a cold range. This rule applies to all participants, including concealed-carry permit holders and law-enforcement officers.
Your firearm must remain unloaded and secured until it is your turn to shoot and you receive clear instructions from a Range Officer.
Acceptable storage includes a suitable range bag, factory pistol case, or similar secure container.
No holsters are permitted.
Ammunition must be stored separately from the firearm until directed otherwise by a Range Officer.
Additional Safety Rules

No concealed carry on the property during the event.
Do not handle firearms at your vehicle or anywhere other than an authorized shooting position under Range Officer supervision.
No drugs or alcohol. Anyone believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to participate in the shooting competition.
Eye and ear protection are mandatory for anyone shooting or observing shooting activities.
Your firearm is your responsibility. Failure to follow safety rules may result in immediate disqualification and removal from the range.
Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Homestead Training Center staff and event Range Officers reserve the right to remove anyone whose conduct compromises the safety or enjoyment of others.
Displays of anger, aggression, or other behavior inappropriate for a shooting competition may result in removal from the range.
A negligent discharge will result in immediate disqualification.

Competition Format
The match will consist of four stages of fire using a combination of paper and steel targets.
Competitors will complete all four stages during the event.
Shooter check-in begins at 8:00 AM. All competitors must arrive by 8:30 AM to allow enough time for check-in, waiver completion, and the mandatory safety briefing.
Match registration closes at 9:00 AM. Competitors who arrive after 8:30 AM may not be able to complete registration and the required pre-match procedures in time and therefore may be unable to participate in the shooting competition.
New to Competition Shooting?
Accuracy is more important than speed.
Shoot at a pace that is comfortable for you, follow the Range Officer’s commands, and focus on safe, accurate shooting.
Most importantly, have fun.
Range Officer Authority
Competitive shooting procedures may differ from what you are accustomed to at a traditional shooting range.
All participants are required to follow the event-specific safety rules and procedures outlined above.
Range Officers have final authority regarding safety, conduct, and participation in the shooting competition.
