Ballet Casanova

Created by choreographer Kenneth Tindall, composer Kerry Muzzey, author of the scenario Ian Kelly and set and costume designer Christopher Oram, this production offers us an incredible opportunity to discover the magnificent and breathtaking world of the 18th century.

Giacomo Casanova lived life to its fullest potential, embracing its beauty and possibilities. Thanks to the revealing nature of his memoirs, this 18th century writer is also known to us today as a priest, musician, actor, lawyer, diplomat, spy, philosopher, and food connoisseur. Not to mention a passionate lover, of course… 

Ian Kelly, the author of Casanova’s biography and the ballet’s libretto, describes him as follows: “[Casanova’s] vast appetite for life and bravery in living it acts as a charm and a challenge to those who come to know him.” Casanova strives to delve into the mind and heart of this legendary lover, while also opening a window to a fascinating age.
