Art Deco – to the present day. Design and Craftsmanship in France
The exhibition Design and Craftsmanship in France clearly demonstrates that in our globalized and standardized world, the quality of handcrafted work and the creative synergy between craftsmen and designers continue to play an important role.
Alongside gobelins, or tapestries, and furniture from the Mobilier National (MN, National Furniture Fund) collections in France, the exhibition is complemented by a selection of Daum Art Deco glass vases from the Esterkin family’s private collection. These outstanding examples, which are not available in Latvian museum exhibitions and collections, provide a multifaceted insight into the heritage and continuity of European and French design and craftsmanship.
