A fatalistic car crash in Mexico City entangles three lives: a supermodel, a young man wanting to run off with his sister-in-law, and a vagrant hitman – all linked by the fate of a fighting dog named Cofi. A masterclass in non-linear storytelling, Amores Perros exposes the destructive nature of love and the fine line between good and evil. Driven by relentless momentum, this explosive debut launched Iñárritu’s “Trilogy of Death” and sounded the clarion call for the Mexican New Wave.
