Reet Salonen and Elis Liivo at the A-Gallery Windows
Reet Salonen
DOWN UNDER
“The works in this exhibition were inspired by flights across oceans and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as its underwater world, and by long road trips through Australia, New Zealand and Samoa.”
Reet Salonen (Mängel-Juuse) is a jewellery artist, designer, gallerist and painter born in Pärnu and based in Helsinki. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from the Estonian Academy of Arts.
Elis Liivo
SUBSTANTIAL STRENGTH – SACRIFICE
The works in this exhibition are dedicated to labour and perseverance. The ancient-style women’s jewellery created by Elis Liivo is inspired by beliefs that jewellery empowered its wearer through the sounds produced while being worn.
Elis Liivo (b. 1990) is a conceptual jewellery artist from Hiiumaa, Estonia. She studied in the Department of Jewellery and Blacksmithing at the Estonian Academy of Arts from 2021 to 2025 and has furthered her studies at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, as well as through an internship at the Spanish company Crisopeya.
