Jazzkaar: Erki Pärnoja “Himmelbjerget 10”
One of the most important albums in the history of Estonian contemporary music is celebrating its first anniversary. Erki Pärnoja’s debut album, Himmelbjerget, was released in 2015, followed by its launch concert at the Jazzkaar festival in 2016 – an event that established Pärnoja as a composer with a distinctive and innovative artistic voice. Cinematic and poetic in nature, with an international outlook and high-quality production, Himmelbjerget has had a profound impact on the development of instrumental music in Estonia, helping bring the genre to major stages. At Jazzkaar, the composer will be joined by long-time collaborators Ulrik Ording on drums, Jonas Kaarnamets on guitars, and Patrik Grundstörm on bass.
